Poem
It happened many years ago In the heart of the Carolina mountains There lived a boy whom she adored He was kind and clever and gentle She couldn’t ever imagine a beloved More wonderful or pleasant He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation In the beginning of this love There were thrills beyond imagining Joys so brilliant and alive They foretold of amazing adventures Where these two would share a life Both splendid and beyond comparison A life of love and hope and faith Found only in those who treasure The beauty of a love so special He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation As they spent their days traveling through life The moments filled with so much excitement Just two hearts – a boy and a girl Alive with light from this wonderous love Love filled their lives with music and poetry Flaming ideas that brought hearts to believe In the mystery, the kiss of faith, the angelic Fire brought to life by their heart’s desire He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation They never lacked for a feeling of hope There were so many blessings, treasures Both warm and compassionate, amazing Filled with breathtaking grace, rays Of vibrant thanks – spoken by two hearts Who knew only that love needed it’s chance To arouse the light within the spirit The feeling that they’d spent their lives With the rich and vibrant moments Brought to life by feelings so marvelous Feelings of wonder, wisdom and warmth Beautiful feelings blessed by the hand of God He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation It would take the death of this girl To dim the bright light that shined around them Reminding all who entered their vicinity That kindness and love were the treasures from above Which whispered through their spirits Releasing affection and adoration, a tenderness Only felt by two hearts who will always melt At the touch of the hand they desire The beloved one who sets their heart afire He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation As death came and took away the sweet flame That set their world burning with passion There were only the ardent tales to take hold Of those who could remember their light Their love, their hope, their faith The amazing way they stayed in love Despite the mountain’s tired seasons and spells Which never quite left them to themselves Where they’d always be grateful for the chance To experience a love so phenomenal A love so alive and so brilliant Shining a light into the distance So that every heart around Be they up or down Found satisfaction In a love that cried out – simply BELIEVE He gave her heart a special pulse Vibrating with sincere appreciation ''B'' Forms, 10 Plus lines Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France December 24, 2021
