Poem
I am sorry I gave you the cold shoulder and now I murmur I was in hot lava in my broken-apart heart that was tough I want to be devoted to you, my long lost lover…my lover… I was keeping myself from crying and it felt good enough Holding you is the pathway to my heart Holding you is my home from the start Holding you is the day I’ll feel so much better Holding you is the night I won’t be a regretter Unbearable thoughts barrel through my head Split apart your ribcage and let me come in Guilt overflows with a spark of revilement instead Rip apart the insides of negativity from within Holding you down is the fervent footsteps to the unknown Holding you is the depths of love and no room for despair Holding you embraces solitude and happiness is shown Holding on to you is so far away from my reach without a care I am sorry I had to let you know that I care dearly for you, Yet I abandoned you with my words of uncertainty…words of uncanny envy I’m walking on thin ice and eggshells just to get to you too I bet you hate the fact that I faced frustration of wanting to be truly free Holding you makes me feel loved again…chastening desire deep down once again Holding you makes beloved auras wrap around my mind Holding you shakes my inner core, above all my limits — so, where have you been? Emboldening by the minute and holding on to you so kind Wandering in a wintry wonderland of wistfulness, Wondering when you’ll set me free before I languish Pondering time after time, roaming aimlessly…in hopelessness… Meandering through the woods of my utter anguish Holding you like I do Was only a dream I had, so take my ever-quaking, withering hand I thought it was true Until I noticed you with another man — that, I’d never understand I long to be with you and I hold on to you But, you let me down with a wretched, broken vow Sick with the awful love flu out of the blue Wearing a frown crown somehow…somehow… Darling, if only you knew the things you do Apparently, I mean nothing to you right now Care to show me around town with a helping hand so true? I’m like a candle without a wick and flame…I’m like a biker without sweat on his brow… Without you here, holding me close anyhow Without me there, holding you as I take a bow Grind my gears of hopefulness from above Be my one and only fearless cheer, my love Our tranquil love appeal reveals to me how we feel, how we feel We feel at one with each other like the darkest seas to the eel Hours pass us by as we locked hands in our little liberty land…I thought you truly cared Flowers and grass landed on our entangled bodies — that’s true love we shared Our grace-laced gravity heals all strife’s wounds The silvery sword of shamelessness obtunds Regrets and sorrows of the always-bleeding, depthless-breeding past Our love for each other was long gone, but it was oh so tremendously vast
