Part 1: This life

I gave my soul to Jesus Christ
The One and Only light that survives
Great despair, worry and pain
All the greed, sorrow and hate

I gave my soul to the King of Kings
The Savior who came, died and came back
To show a tired, old soul that this life
Is only the path toward heaven and real life

I gave my soul to the Prince of Peace
The Deliverer, Redeemer, Liberator
He taught me about love, joy and hope
He gave me a new life, a new heart, a new light

I gave my soul to the One God sent down to us
The Son of God, the answer to every prayer
The Glorious Son who will always be there
Giving me the chance to share my faith with grace

Part 2: My next life

As a redeemed child of the King
My body will die – but my soul will still live
On into eternity, I’ll stand beside the One
Who created me and gave to me – Salvation

As a redeemed child of the King
My soul will walk streets of pure gold
And my heart will continue to give
Love to the One who gave me everything there is

As a redeemed child of the King
My dreams will come true as I enter heaven’s throne room
Meet the One I’ve lived my life for, the lover of my soul
The One who makes my light burn with a joy beyond words

As a redeemed child of the King
I’ll walk with the One who knows me better than I know myself
Give to Him my worship, my praise and my song…
With a heart that believes there will be a joyful glow

Part 3: As my breath flows, here and now

Light falls soft around my thoughts
As I whisper a gentle prayer
Filled with hope, faith and love
And thanks for all that He has been

Light falls soft around my thoughts
As kindness erases every shadow of doubt
Revealing all the beauty and peace
Found on the inside of a child of the King

Light falls soft around my thoughts
As my praise grows more alive and passionate
His grace awakens my wildest dreams
And kindles my hope for the hereafter

Light falls soft around my thoughts
As life brings me the assurance of His compassion
His all consuming peace that arouses
My need to let everyone discover salvation!
