Poem
The human condition, a poem Just me putting words on a screen again.. don't read into it too much; or do - - - Half alive, stark naked and cold You bet you wish you'd paid attention To all the stories of old Stamped out of tradition The human condition, Try all you like but blind eyes don't see media omissions The world moves so fast it's so hard to keep up So much bull, piss in a cup Everyone has their say Everyone needs to have their way The problem comes fast when the morals are old You won't find my best works, with my face on the cover Despite the fact I'm not one to hide under covers I let them think what they believe I believe they can think Only problem is, we've poisoned the drink The well ran dry long ago, so the poison there is gone But the effects it had, well people can be bold.. Poet, prophet, liar or martyr; It's all just words in the end Just dont call me the one who's insane, When we're all going around a bend // Jack of all trades, master of metaphysical My brain works in a strange way, I pick up on the subliminal.. I was never good with words, because my brain doesn't use them Something about a spectrum But I like to think it's useful To some I'm criminal, to others I'm a lost cause But once first impressions settle, maybe just take a pause It's easy to throw stones, through the windows of glass houses You can build up your throne, but what gives you power? Free will is a blessing, and tragic all at once Because we are so used to being told what to do We forgot to think about us. I don't know why I waste my time; but then I wonder if its ever wasted Just take the bad with the good I know I can taste it // 2158 AEST - Friday, December 2021 Zachariah Francis Paynter - just a regular dude
