THIS LIFE In childhood my mind was full of questions What is true? Are my beliefs built on a lie? Family tradition left no room for suggestions My parents' religious practice, I dared not defy Mass introduced me to kneeling hypocrites those sinning with pleasure through the week then confessed with unrepentant wits acting righteous, humble and oh so meek Despite my reflections, for God I felt great love and prayed that someday soon I would learn to accept His Word with guidance from above His expectations from me I would then discern In query, if God was Father, Holy Spirit and Son how then, could he sit at His own right hand? Told, 'it's a mystery,' I knew my search had begun my desire for truth had made me take a stand A Bible study was started, the idea of a friend within a week, interest peeked, it all made sense I found the Truth, forsooth, now I comprehend False teachings held too many lies and pretense OUR NEXT LIFE I followed God's word and scriptural intent I know what happened to me after death God fulfilled His promise, and my time is spent in Earth's Edenic gardens, grateful for every breath Jesus' life given for the sin of Adam and Eve Death took me, and I woke upon resurrection With my whole heart, I was right to believe in Jehovah's promises, I bowed in subjection Living in a perfect world is where I am now There's no heartache, suffering, or tragic war No greater gift than paradise, God did endow where sick ones heal, and death is no more Loved ones returned from darkened graves I hold them in my arms, tears of joy in my eyes Life, immortalized. Righteous ones He saves To live forever is a blessing, my revered prize AS OUR BREATH FLOWS HERE AND NOW I seek everlasting life, and praise His name to those with a righteous heart, willing sheep I tell them of His Kingdom and why Jesus came to Earth. A sacred vow to God, I reverently keep To many, life in this world brings tears and pain Days are grim; calamity and sorrow are here Jehovah God promises a virtuous earthly domain I convey His message: "There is nothing to fear." These days we need a light to hold on to hope Faith in Scripture that guides with Heavenly light Through spiritual encouragement, we can cope I offer God's Truth that will set all things aright December 8, 2021 Doublethink Beliefs Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker
