Hear the Instruction Cast in the lot among; Let us all have one purse; For the love of money is the root of all evil; If someone comes to take your pants, give him your shirt; Hear the instruction of your father, Forsake not the law of your mother; Other than the Lord God above, there shall not be any others; We shall find all precious substances; We shall fill our houses with spoil; Proverbs 150:14-18 When you come to enter in this house; Take your shoes off they maybe soiled; My son, my daughter walk not in the way with them; Hear the instruction of your father, Forsake not the law of your mother; That say the things that are not so; No, no, no, no don’t you go; For their feet run to evil; Yes, and to evil they do run; To them it’s perfect, pretty, to them it’s right, but it isn’t so; Make haste to shed innocent blood; Let us all come together, for God is true love; Hear the instruction of your father, Forsake not the law of your mother; Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird; But the vulture and the angel and the raven and the dove all do to fly; Yes they fly up above, up above my head. . . Yes in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird; Lay waiting on the angles to come a hold; And they lay wait for their own blood; They a monist in their own loves yeah Wisdom cries’ without, she uttered her voice in the streets; Fighting out tearing down over and over there’s no interring peace; Hear the instruction of your father, Forsake not the law of your mother; Hear the instruction of our Father, who art in heaven Hear the Instruction Written words & arranged music by James E. Lee Sr. 2008© For my Uncle David Washington Sr.
