Poem

October indulges color,
while November hosts Autumn's death.
And as scarlet leaves turn to muck,
brisk breezes frost every breath.

Skeletal trees, with arms outstretched,
stand naked to the winds of Fall.
And squirrels scamper to stash their nuts;
before winter snows, pay a call.

The last migrating duck has fled;
the songbirds have all left as well.
And the sun's a little less bright;
Sol's fallen under Autumn's spell.

November dons Fall's forlorn veil
of hoarfrost threads and freezing rain.
And Nature summons Winter's white
to make Her look pristine again.
