Poem
I once had a treasured mid-western friend who Frequently used the expression, ''My aching back". I soon learned that the proverbial aching back is So much better that the literal. I am grateful to God for a back that does not ache; but I must Confess, that my soul sometimes ache. I am a realist, realizing I cannot sweep My grief away, but would love to sleep It away into 'tomorrow' or some future day. I am so sadden that our country and Our world have come to this place; This place of separation and Disconnection, forcing us into Quarantines beyond physical structures And into emotional ones of complications. Complications that have expanded the Gap between families and friends; Complications of building walls of strife between the vaccinated and non vaccinated. Constitutional and personal freedoms are Being threatened and infringed upon. Freedoms we took for granted just months ago Are now being highly reguarded and fought for. What we want to do, now, we cannot freely do. Where we want to go, now, we cannot freely go. Freedom of movement and travel have been curtailed. Should I drive or fly? Bus or train? Or should I even go? Qurantines and testings? Vacinations? Flight cancilations. The distance between families and friends, once challenging But managerable, is now more challenging than ever and Plagued with confusion and unpredictables. Grief often comes in multiple packages, both personal and for one's country. Our forefathers faced challenges and overcame; and I feel confident that we shall also overcome our present challenges. But presently, I must say that 'My Soul Aches'. 102321PS
