Poem

If people could only see the big picture I see
It’s not the first time, it has been this way my whole life
If people could only feel the pain I feel,
When I see anyone suffer, whether I know them or not
I worked hard for years, investigating a case to help many victims
I worked in Human Services, mentoring those with emotional issues
I volunteered to support battered women who needed help
I wrote many self-help article publications that reached many
I write poetry to bring anyone insight, a pleasant thought, a smile
Anything I can do to reach people with love and inspiration
I say all this, because I know that regardless of how hard I try,
Or what I may sacrifice, with this only touching the surface,
People will not fully understand what drives me from within
That’s ok and all I know is I will try to give whatever I can
Whether I know them or not or someone in my close circle
At times, I may give some blunt truth, difficult for them to hear
But, at least I said it and I have but this one voice in this life time
I must keep my conscience in - tact, being genuine is the best I can do
Where I fail, is only something I can re-evaluate to learn from
But, it is not always a failure in the big picture of building strength
A breath of wisdom for teaching something delayed, for another to learn
And in this circle of life that rotates amongst us, miracles are created!
