Poem
I was walking home through the park one night, and it was dark and foggy with very little light; I heard sighing I thought but I kept going, then noticed a man coming and I started slowing. He reached me quickly and we both stopped, I stared at his handsome face and then dropped; He picked me up and took me to the graveyard, to his home below the tombs with a door not barred. I could leave I suppose but was in a trance, he came to me and I took his hand to dance; He is very pale yet he has an ethereal charm, and as he kisses me- my body rings with alarm. I never make it home that night or again never, police search everywhere but I was not found ever; But, it is said that on the darkest nights a couple walk, hand in hand in the park at midnight on the clock ! _______________________ October 6, 2021 Poetry/Rhyme/Midnight On The Clock Copyright Protected, ID 10-1395-619-06 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France Written for Standard the contest, Something Spooky sponsor, Tania Kitchin, Judged 10/24/2021 First Place
