Is it that time?

Never seems to be enough 
  the sunrise slips in
  just as the night escapes the darkness
  and the morning rays appear
  glittering on the dew of the grass
  as the warm begins to dry the drops
it's the residue of our time together;

a moment sliding through our words
  the wonder and exhilaration of being together
  one more chance at hello, 
  how are you, missed you so,
  did you know how much I love you,
but it's goodbye, time to go;

it's just the heartache I'm afraid of
  that possibility of never seeing you again
  just when I thought you felt the same,
  wrong and mistaken once more,
  you say we're just friends;

I'll kiss you lightly, 
  on the forehead, on your cheek,
  sorry I misunderstood
  but surely you must have known
  love unreturned is just love alone;

I'm sorry to be leaving you
 time for goodbye.
