Poem
Apparently tomorrow Between the hour's Of 10am and 1pm I have recently earlier this day just been informed From my sister and 3 niece's That i am to and should expect a knock upon my house downstairs front door As my 50th birthday shall arrive And given that i am still only 48 year's young And my actual birthday isn't even till mid November 12th So confused was i left wondering what on earth in fact they we're implying And should i now expect the card accompanying it to have this inscription on it Just incase you do not make it to the ripe old age of 50 All of us chipped in and thought we would present you with this parting gift 1 and some year's belated early I hope you like it as it came from the bottom of our heart And pondered over it both long and very hard As we thought it sums up who you really are and what we think of you And what you ask is to come in that box I will only be able to relay to you tomorrow when it arrives I alone can only pray and in my wildest dreams this wish Is it is a box wrapped up and stuffed in old discarded newspaper With 1 singular 50 pence coin nothing more and not neither in mint condition And ferverently scratching head and contemplating what the he'll this gesture meant I calmed and came to this conclusion when the penny eventually did drop A single penny for every year thus far i haved lived And what better value to place upon something as a life so priceless As demeaning and devaluing it by adding countless pointless zero's at the end **** Update **** What I received yesterday and was actually in the box Was this brand-new phone so as I can keep in touch with them I am currently typing this message out to you now on Which obviously cost a hell of a lot more than 50 pence In fact you would have to place a few zero on at the end instead And they obviously all had to club together to buy me and pay for as in reality probably can't afford it Which without being or seeming totally ungrateful as I am truly grateful and really like it I honestly wish they hadn't and much rather preferred If they had not wasted it or spent that money on something or someone else As surely even to me there are or must be far more deserving , important or in pressing need of help Than me myself or I am
