She shared her heart Her soul and thoughts She taught of joy Peace and kindness She was a friend and poet Sent to remind us God is alive and living On the inside She shared her spirit Her light and laughter She taught of love That abides in the hereafter Love this is wise, strong And finds a way to keep on Through the sorrows and pain The worst storms that come Even the dark that lingers Through the struggles and fears Always creating a sense of Knowing the light will come through Shining down on our hopes With a prayer for something more A second chance, a new dawn The grace to keep going forward Into a future who assures us God is alive and living through us She shared her light, her sight For hues of kindness and inspiration Faith that lives through despair Guiding us on toward a morning sun Who is buttery yellow and kisses hearts With a feeling of completion Never giving up on the hope that Love will always be there for us Pouring out peace on our heart and soul That is like light radiating warmth Healing every worry and discouragement With a knowing that this life is only a breath Released into the heavens where we shall be When this life is finally gone And, like Carolyn, we move on To a joy that is beyond words A joy that frees our thoughts Keeps us filled with brilliant hope And leaves us without any thought Of worry, pain or discouragement She shared with us, a pen of hope And we can now share with her… The pen of hope that she is better off In a place where there is no pain or hurt A place where God’s love shines brighter Than anything we’ve ever known or thought With love that is beyond our wildest dreams Love that completes us in a way we can believe Is like feeling an inkling of what it means to be Loved more than anything – in a way that is More alive than any encounter we’ve ever dreamed Love like this is meant to be shared And I believe Carolyn is sharing that love With the keeper of her soul, the One who knows It is only through love that we can open the door To our heavenly home and the miracle of Jesus light Radiating hope, inspiration and insight, the miracle Of love that is beyond words or poetry A love that is living, breathing, seeing Into the heart of our need for Him She shared her heart and soul with us Now we can share our prayers for the hope That she somehow knows of our loss And smiles… because she was loved Tributes to Carolyn Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France August 14, 2021
