Poem
In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Soft rays of light pour in Across the blue green mountains Smiling, lifting, singing praises Lighting the world with whispers Of the most gentle peace Longing to caress the spirit On wings of graceful melodies In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Beads of dew melt webs Threaded by lonely spiders On the nights of shadowy prayers Laughing, breathing, repeating All the joy that lives within The soul who knows God’s healing Embraces the darkest thought In brightness that purrs on the air In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Lavender ridges rise to the clouds Coloring the morning in flames Furiously lighting the way Toward feelings of rapture Brought alive by the churning belief That even my dreams can be felt On the silence that surrounds This ancient mountain serenity In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Reflections of faith sigh Lingering on the stars twinkling In the heavens, delighting Echoing the moon’s intensity On waves of sensitivity Radiating the love that lives On a heart who truly feels The blessings of this mountain grace In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Misty and drinking the buttery sunshine Stealing hearts from their havens Quenching the thirst for admiration That comes in the floating clouds Who drift like reveries on azure skies Whispering, wishing, welcoming Visions captured by the willowy flight Of delicate, feathery, veils of insight In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Dancing on the grateful heart Comes a fanciful hope For love that covers everything In hues of faith and grace Yearnings that come alive On the thoughts of those who know God is the only One Who could create beauty wise enough To shimmer from the eyes Into the very heart of those who know This love is beyond explanation It feels like it has been written On the stars, the sun, the moon From the very thoughts of the One Who created us all to love totally In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment Praise falls from my lips Kissing the hopes created by The One who breathed the life Into my heart, soul and spirit In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment God blesses us with a creation That lights feelings with splendor So alive that we must be empty To ignore these blessings we experience In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment There is intimacy with His creation And a feeling that we’ve been touched By the Creator who knows us best Finally, we’ve been kissed By the hand who feeds the land In a Blue Ridge Mountain moment I want to say thank you to Him
