Poem
The writer in me wants you to know that, 
I was an avid reader before I was a writer... 
As early as six, I became obsessed with reading…
any book - from aunt’s classic literature to mom’s favourite novels…
to brother’s detective stories (which he hid under his textbooks), 
to little sister’s fairy tales…I read them all …anything and everything in print. 
I read grandma’s Ramayana and also her recipes for sumptuous cooking, 
Grandpa’s newspaper articles..
Was I possessed! I Wonder!

Then…I started to write…secretly…
first thing I wrote, was a letter to the editor of a famous newspaper, 
pretending to be an adult expressing opinions about current issues in China, 
Then I drafted letters for my grandma, because she was sick - suffering from cancer. 
I began to participate in story-writing contests for children, and won a few prizes!!!!
In my teenage romantic years, I started making international  pen friends…I wanted to spread my wings beyond my surrounding, 
and it did not stop me that I was not a native speaker of English!
Oops! How did I forget? I wrote my diary pouring my heart until the day I had a huge transition in my life!
 
Well…I am back ....right now it’s poetry which keeps me alive! 
First thing at dawn, I love watching the panorama of clouds gliding by, playing hide-and-seek with the Sun!
 
My greatest passion is watching the sky - at miraculous dawn and gossamer twilight dusk… sometimes tangerine, sometimes ruby-red, crimson, vermilion or grey!!!
    The kaleidoscopic mesmerizing colours of the sky unravel the poet in me…

my garden - my oasis - with summer flowers, cooing birds, ravishing butterflies, and zesty bees - wrap me up with the serenity of a writer! 

The quivering dewdrops on lotus leaves, symphony from temple-bells, rhapsody of crooning birds, the sight of sapphire waves rolling away on sandy beaches - all create an awe in me! 

Love, kindness, faith, trust around me are the sources of blessings and joys reflected in my writings, 

World is not devoid of sorrows and sufferings - I want to write for needy children, underprivileged humans, battered women - 
Empathy, the key and greatest asset in a writer 

I aspire to be a writer who is inspired by surreal Nature, ethereal Music of Life, and unending Love...

Poetry is my life, Poetry is my soul!
