Poem
Nothing was ordinary about that day, I mean that, in the best of ways. It was early in the morning the sun had risen up. Yet the moon was still out and stars shined bright in the sky. It’s like they too were waiting for you to arrive. I wasn’t sure if you would accept me, as our only form of communication had been in dreams, both of us anticipating in which realm we would meet. Even though I had yet to know how you look to the eye I feel as if I’ve known you all my lives. I have no worry to how you may seem, because in my heart and mind you’re already as beautiful as one can be. My only worry is what you’ll think of me. Where I’m from, angels and beasts don’t meet, let alone love one another, it’s not possible even in dreams. So I was shocked you see? When you said you would come down for me. Use your wings to descend from the skies leaving paradise behind all so I can make you mine.. I can never compare to an angel like the ones you’re leaving up there, I cannot offer you the comforts you are used to and sadly I say that in despair. All I had to offer was all the love in my heart. Which you said is all that’s required. It made sense to me because as low as I was, something in my chest told me I belong to something higher. I know what It means now. All the struggles in my path, all the battles and its wrath as hard as they were it was to ensure I never become corrupt or crack and make sure this heart remains pure and intact so our love can be as true as a fact. Then the moment came I was eagerly waiting for. The sky split in two and thunder roared. The grounds vibration indicated the earth was shaken to its core. It was the most beautiful scene I’ve ever seen with a holy feeling of relief, kind of like when Moses split the sea. The light in the tear was brighter than anything I have ever seen before then I saw you coming out of it and I was sure, this was heaven’s door. You floated down slowly as mesmerized as I was of your beauty the piercing chill of doubt also surrounded me. Shaking me and my bones, worried you wouldn’t like what you see and you’d return back home leaving me alone. But I knew either way it would be a blessing because if you came just for a second? I know all would change nothing would be the same in this world I’m left in. but then the unexpected happened. I felt the love of your embrace and the warmth of your wings, cancelling anything that relates to doubt and sin. I knew one thing from that moment on, everything that had happened in my life was nothing short of right because this path of mine placed you in my arms where you belong.
