Double Feature Flashback! Three friends of childhood featuring a blond, brunette and red-head Sharing the script of summer days and rain soaked winter afternoon Unfolding documentary of roads ocean journey to California, Colorado and Norway. Zoom in on a movie set in a California market on a long summer’s eve A friend hearing lines born from words born in Scandinavia – The language of her husband’s Kansas clan. A family, like Caruso, auditioning for adventure in a land far from home Highlights the father hard at studying lines – advanced degree – local university Starring in a new foreign film on a silver screen of summer. Cast of cameo parts for local extras embraces these new found stars In “shorts” of picnics, parties - local outdoor concerts. Red carpet rolled out for slapstick laughter of special effects. Places! Camera! Action! Real life drama set in motion A phone call premieres a musical’s sound track of delighted screams! Coincidence dubbing out takes like stunt men on tightropes. New featured actors casually asked if they might know Blond friends from childhood in a land of fiords and long winter night – Cinema catches animation in a comedy of misdirection - revelation! “They are our best friends!” Sequel - a barbecue in bon voyage for new cast members returning home Coincidence brings the red-head from the northwest to join the fun Cameras roll! Celebration captures actors in cast party. Sequel set in motion. Still photos carried back across the Nordic seas Oscar winning performance over evening coffee in mischievous eyes Identities of new found friends revealed in tickets of photo surprises! Coffee spilled. Shrieks of unbelief. Question sputtered “Where did the h… you get these?!” Life’s movie set in motion Directed by coincidence Double feature surprise. This is a true story. My group of friends befriended a visiting Norwegian couple. When I asked if they happen to know my childhood friend, they jumped up shouting my friends were their best friends in Norway. Sequel – the third childhood buddy happened to be in the Bay Area the day we were having a farewell barbecue. She came. We took pictures. They kept the pictures a secret until a dinner party. The rest is history. Miles and years cannot stop coincidences or God appointments. 6-30-21 Contest: Surprise Me Sponsor: Charles Messina
