God doesn't work through us because we're flawless. Rather He works through us in spite of our imperfections ~ A.W. Tozer I did it again, I say to myself Ashamed, humiliated, falling apart I did it again and just why I can’t say I did it again – a sin which I pray for God to take away from me, deliver me Free me from weakness – with His strength If I were lacking in morals Maybe I would see – just why This same sin seems to plague me If I were somehow deficient In intelligence or wit, I might understand What causes this relapse into impiety I did it again, I have to admit And therefore I feel so full of guilt I did it again and just feel like crying Will I ever learn so my heart isn’t dying? I did it again and only God can foresee Just when I might be free from this flaw in me If I were not filled with the Holy Spirit Maybe I wouldn’t know that I did it again And that I have to take time to ask for forgiveness Repent of this sin that can seems so troubling As it pursues me from the dawn until dusk Never allowing me to gain control of my weakness I did it again and once again I came pleading To the Heavenly Father – the One who sought me Taught me and bought me… the One who knows me More deeply than I know my own heart and soul The One who, when I let Him control me, helps me To be so good, much better than I thought I could If I weren’t so weak maybe I wouldn’t need His Spirit in me But, as I can see it… His Spirit is the One who breathes The hues of hope, faith and love through my life Nudges me to recall my sin and contention with a prayer For forgiveness, renewal and change that comes from inside Where all change is brought on by the One who guides my life And lights up the darkness that fades into shadows of past strife I did it again, but He is always by my side Reminding me that I’m loved and worthwhile Despite the sin that plagues my heart and soul I did it again, but He listens to my prayers Fills me up with humble thoughts and blesses me With sincere caring, a new day, a kind hope With a second chance to be someone I’d like to know I did it again… yet, I can know He loves me still and leads me to hope In time, I will grow into the one He chose When He chose me to follow His word John 15:16 King James Version 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
