Poem

I have this person inside of me 
that is trying to get out
She is the part of me that I keep locked up
deep, down inside the core of my soul.
All of the hatred, jealousy and anger inside of me was her creator.
She scratches, claws and pleads for me to set her free.
If I do, I fear what she may make me do.
She is so close to the surface that I feel like she could burst through at any moment taking over the control of my existence fueled only by negativity, hate and murderous rage formed by lifetimes of trauma and self-limiting beliefs.
I hold her lovingly, as you would a toddler during a tantrum, dodging the flailing fists and feet.
Each day this fight makes me a stronger person.
One day my hope is to become strong enough to allow the two parts of me to become whole.
