I wish I would have spent more time appreciating you
Listening to you, enjoying you, but I was selfish.
I was eager to do my own things, to play in other places.
I could have come more often, but I thought we would have a lot more time.
I expected you to live to be a hundred and twelve like your great aunt.
This was totally not you, I had no idea you were this sick. 
I am torn up wishing I had known, 
but then again, maybe it would have been worse
To see you like that. 
You were always so vital, joyful, and funny, you were energetic.
Could I have stood to have seen you much more like you were in the end?
I really don’t know. I just wish we had one more day, 
so I could dump my heart on you.
