Poem
Two hearts begin together Full of love, light and laughter They grow strong and carry on Through good and bad, happy and sad Struggling past pain and sorrow Finding the courage to face each tomorrow Two hearts color the world In hues of joy, inspiration and truth Smiling through the heartbreak Encouraging and enlightening Through many troubles and pains Growing wiser with each passing day Two hearts breathe passion and praise Into a world full of anger and angst Greeting the moments, each one a new feel For the hope, faith and love that sweetens Life with such appeal to the senses Of serenity that lives within the spirit Two hearts grace the world with compassion A gentleness that feeds the barren desert Of a heart who has mysteriously dried up Leaving only bitterness and black disgust With flow of crimson floods – warming to the touch Tenderness feeds the soul a second chance at love Two hearts merge to become one flesh Raising awareness for the hope that comes from Giving back to another – the joy that pours Through the soul who listens to the One Who is in control of this world and everyone If we only take a moment to give Him credit Two hearts, one hope – one joy – one love Pieced together through faith in the One who knows Life is only a moment – a glimpse into time When there is assurance that we will soon find Eternity comes calling to the soul who knows Life is preparation for the everlasting, immutable… Unchanging, abiding, undying – life eternal! Life is only a silent thought… While eternity reminds us we have it all If we simply listen to the call The whisper of the heart and soul Who know God is a living God And He blesses with eternal life When we heed the pleading Of the Spirit’s believing In Jesus Christ, His Son The One who died for us all And lives in a heavenly home The Audience Falls Silent Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Kai Michael Neumann May 5, 2021
