Poem
I remember being your age, and at times it was impossible To go it alone, but I always knew that I had PRAYERS. Through others, God was WHISPERING words of COURAGE And INSPIRATION. I did not always realize it, but they were REFLECTIONS Of God's LOVE. HOME was always within reach, and God's HEALING hands were always outstretched. Although I am certain that someday, you will see, I haven't the slightest idea when that time will be. But when it happens, you will surely remember me And the words of eternal truth that I speak. You will recall how I tried to spare you of the pain; to give you an umbrella and bring you in out of the rain; to show you how to navigate life and have one that sings. Presently, you see the straight and narrow line that's too foggy for you. It's God's universal line drawn in the sands of time for all of us. It's that unchangeable line that currently makes you feel restricted and bound sometimes. O, my dear and precious one, I know it's true that I must be strong and find a way to step aside and get out of your way. Sometimes, I am more than a little PASSIONATE. But I know the time has come that I must let you go, even though it pains me greatly to do so. Just a few months ago, you turned 20, and later I heard you say for the first time. "I'm grown and know what I am doing". Let me live my life my way", you said. Just remember when that day comes, and it surely will. Like ocean waves rushing to the shores at high tides, my HEART will always be near to rush to the sandy beaches of your heart. And I will be here for you, not to say that I told you so. But from the heart of God and mine, His love will flow. 041821PSCtest, Agape, Regina McIntosh
