Christians should really believe that God first created first the heavens and than the earth. The very first man God created, was out of the dust of the earth. When God breathed into his nos tiles, Adam became the very first living soul.

The very first job God gave to mankind, was that of being a gardener. God did create the earth, but it was Adam's job to "tend it and to keep it."  In fact God put man to work, but it was a wonderful occupation! 

And than God created a helpmate for Adam out of his ribs after he put him fast asleep.  Later on Adam named his wife Eve.  After the fall of mankind, thorns and thistles began to grow outside of the garden of Eden. And now work became drudgery! 

The nation of Israel was instructed to let their ground rest every seventh year, in order for it to replenish itself! When they disobeyed God, they were conquered by the King of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar for seventy years. The exact number of years that they disobeyed God's instructions! I do believe that the nation of Israel lets its land rest on the seventh year? 

However in the United States, we have had soil erosion, because we did not allow our fields to rest every seven years. I honestly do not know if some farmers are doing it today or not. It is because God promised the children of His nation of Israel that, "the desert would bloom like a rose."

With one notable exception, God's nation of Israel. The world is learning from and benefiting from their irrigation's system.  Including the United States of America! It is good that the main food producing nations of the world are going organic! Pesticides may kill the insect population, but are highly toxic.

To the best of my limited knowledge, America is still using pesticides. Not only on commercial farming, but individual home owners/renters as well. The United States is using genetic engineering on some of its food produce. But the other nations of the world are not accepting those modified produce!

Humans have no basic right to change or modify God's food chain! When God created our planet He said that "It was good." In other words it was already perfected by the Holy Trinity! 

The thorns and thistles that are growing came about because the fall of the human race! The earth not yielding its full harvest also came about because of sinful men!   Our instructions remain the same, "we are to tend to the earth and keep it."
