Poem

There used to be a time when I had lost all hope

I gave up on love and burned my happiness to ashes 

Broken to the point where I really did not care 

Turned my focus to God and at the future I no longer had to stare 

Everything in his hands no so I know the weather is more than fair

Unexpectedly I met you and together our rose grew with a love worth more than gold

Honestly who knew?

I have seen this day in my head a few times but now its finally here 

A surreal euphoria or work of art that communicates every emotion with each color

I see you smiling lighting up the sky on this rainy day

Surrounded by family and friends, some things about this day will never end 

Memories that I could not let go of even with an open palm

I hope you are at peace, I hope you are happy

Take in each moment as you let go of another breath

Yes, we have been through hell leading up to this point but they say the trip is always faster on the way back

I look at you knowing you have my back and I have your heart

Speechless, this time not from writer’s block

Even when you get older I know a beauty such as yours will never leave

p.s. my face just got a little colder from the tears leaving my eyes…
