Once He washed our feet
Now He has an exalted seat
Once we crucified the Lord
Now He is loved and adored
Once we left Him on a cross
Now He comforts our loss

Once He sat with sinners
Now He is the with winners
Once He gave grace to us
Now love is our greatest plus
Once He forgave all sin
Now a light shines deep within

Once He raised them from death
Now His hope lingers on the breath
Once He sealed our souls in hope
Now He teaches us how to cope
Once He was a teacher of mercy
Now He gives without controversy

Once He knew our deepest regrets
Now He forgives and even forgets
Once He filled our hearts with joy
Now He frees from all that will destroy
Once He filled us with His spirit
Now He assures us we need not fear it

Once He was living here with us all
Now He lives in heaven, never to fall
Once He gave us His very best 
Now He assures us we are blessed
Once He forgave us of all our sins
Now He gives us courage that begins…

With Him, our Hope, our heart, our grace
The pure love that we will always embrace
There is assurance, courage and a prayer
That frees, fulfills and makes a way where
There had been sadness and pain, mourning
That lingered where Jesus would be adorning…

With hope, faith and love – descending like a dove
