Poem

tell me another pretty lie.

look me in the eye and lie,
 a beautiful tall tale,
you claim that i destroyed you,
but what  about myself?

	I tore myself down trying to build you up,
but i make one mistake and im gone.

i tried everything to make you happy yet fell short
somehow I always made a mistake-
even if nobody else saw it as a mistake.

somehow i was always below you-
even if statistics said otherwise,
you were somehow constantly better than I am.

somehow my image damaged yours, and i don’t understand how,
	I achieved so much in so little time,
yet i was damaging to you?

i was damaging when i was the one crying each night alone,
when you were mad i was sad,
and maybe that should’ve said something about you-
but i was blind and in “love”.

	i almost apologized to you, but i realized i was never in the wrong
i would’ve never had to lie if you weren’t so angry at everything i did.
