Love is not the butterfly’s but when a butterfly flies with broken wings

It hurts but you can still go to places unexplored re-learning how to walk on air

A lot of people get distracted with what love can look like rather than practicing what love really is

Which brings up the great question…what is love?

Followed by…how do I know whether or not what I am feeling is real?   

The answer is not found in day dreams or the pictures you see in your head at night

Love is sacrifice and found in the little things

Does he open the door for you, does he make an effort to listen to you and treat you with respect, and does he want to know how you feel about certain decisions or just want to explore how you feel

If things were different would his feeling still be the same or is his “love” based on circumstances that only give himself advances

Does she look to build you up, does she have fun with you with things she does not even understand, and does she believe in you 

If things weren’t the same through your lows would she continue to trust you as you fall again before you succeed

They say love is blind so why are you looking with your eyes instead of your heart

They say love is patient so why are you racing to the finish line

They say love is kind so why are you only thinking about yourself when you say I love you

Love does not envy, love does not boast, but you get mad at him for any interaction with the opposite sex and he post about hashtag relationship goals with only one goal that does not have her at the top

They say all these things about love and not enough people really understand

When he loves you, he will listen to you talk even though he does not want to hear about the other 15mins of information that does not matter, to get to the 1 minute of information that communicates what she wants

When he loves you, he will protect you, lead you, and demonstrate his love through sacrifice not lust

When he loves you, he cares for you by sharing his time with you even if it takes away from what he wants because he wants to see your broken wings fly

When she loves you, she supports you and wants to be around you all the time even when you need space

When she loves you, she takes the good with the bad

But we are all human so as easy as it is to write this it is not easy to learn

We have to learn how to love and in turn our love grows stronger so the pain does not keep us down as long or cut as deep

One day I was walking down the street thinking about the money I need

Then I looked down to see someone had dropped a check from reality

I then brushed the crust from my eyes as I woke up and everything made sense

p.s. guess we are all still learning to fly…
