Poem
I write this prose for my dear, fair lady wife To celebrate her Birthday on November 29th She’s my partner, my best friend, the love of my life Without her my life would be as dark as night From nineteen seventy-one to two thousand eleven A short forty years from her blessed birth All the Angels will come down from Heaven To celebrate my Angel here on earth An Angel came down from Heaven above A wonderful, beautiful, sweet girl It wasn’t long before I fell in love And she would change my entire world I met her on the 12th day of December Nineteen hundred and ninety-five A cold, late fall day as I remember But the warm Christmas Spirit was alive As I was trimming the Christmas tree I caught sight of a beautiful girl I gazed at her and she looked back at me She would turn up-side-down my whole world This was the girl of my April dream My dream had come true, I had found her This was the woman that fate had deemed To be my partner, my Jennifer When her beautiful brown eyes met mine I knew she was the girl I had dreamt of Our souls became instantly intertwined I knew with her I had fallen in love With her I believed in love at first sight Or should I say love at first dream When I fell asleep that cool April night I thought my life no more than it could seem As I sunk way down into Sandman Sound There was a gorgeous girl waiting for me A wondrous woman I had not yet found And in my dream, I would only get to see My life was changed in early December When I received the greatest Christmas present The girl of my dreams that I remembered Was real and I was in her presence As I stood there dumb-struck by her beauty She said the Jennifer was her first name She looked like a pixie, quite a cutie This was the girl of my dreams, the very same She had short brown hair and entrancing brown eyes And she reminded me of a magical pixie When she looked at me her eyes could mesmerize And I thought that maybe she could fix me For I was a lost soul in search of love I was sad in my soul, body and mind She could only have been sent from above An Angel from Heaven arrived just in time My soul was lit up with a warm desire When I met her that cold day in December I knew that she could rekindle the fire Of my heart’s smoldering embers Jennifer is beautiful right down to her soul Her beauty is beyond compare In my heart she fills a hole In my mind she is always there Jennifer is intelligent and sweet She is lovely, gorgeous and fair She is friendly to everyone she meets And as for fashion, she has a flare Jennifer stole my heart And it’s hers to keep for life I feel lost whenever we’re apart But comforted in the thought that she’s my wife Jennifer has a very caring heart She’s and excellent nurse with healing hands There are Angels on earth of which she is a part That are sent here to take care of us humans Jennifer is strong, courageous and amazing She’s helped me through the darkest of times And even though I’m still quite crazy She stays with me and I’m proud to say she’s all mine My wife is a real life Wonder Woman She flies around in her invisible jet Her powers are really super-human She caught me with her magic lasso when we met Jen believes in fairies like Tinker Bell She believes in the magic of life She believes in faith, hope and love as well Several reasons why I made her my wife Jennifer is my wife’s full name But I like to call her “My Jenny” Though she may never have claim to fame Our love is strong and rare like an old shiny steel penny Our little house has become a Noah’s Ark With Mr. Salem the old man with the grumpy face Miss Arwen the little princess with the big bark And crazy Mr. Jackson who runs all over the place We have Mr. Carter the big brother, gentle and clumsy Tiny Miss Marina the big attitude cutie Out front we have Miss Ashes, cross-eyed, but lovey Out back we have Mamma Cinder and here four kitties My wife’s birthday is a magical time With joy it began her journey of years Twenty-six years later her path would cross mine And the road to our future would start to appear She’s definitely an Angel sent to this world To be my soul mate in this life and the world after She’s an inspiration to me as the years unfurl I love her smile, her beauty, her intelligence, her laughter I’m very proud to be her husband And I’m very happy that she is my wife I was so honored when she gave me her hand And I faithfully pledged to love her the rest of my life As God’s Hand guides The Hand of Fate We were meant to grow old together In her I found my one true soul mate We shall dance in love’s light forever I was truly blessed when Jennifer became my wife And what better way for this poem to end Than to say she is not only the love of my life She is also my very, very best friend
