Poem
Billy and Mary had the most beautiful love story. It was like something you read in a book or seen in a movie. They were next-door neighbors and best friends. Each milestone in life was made with each other. They knew each other all of their lives and they both were the only child. Billy and Mary attended the same elementary, middle and high school. The town that they grew up in was small and everyone knew each other. She was the head cheerleader, and he was the captain of the football team at the local high school. They were voted King and Queen for three years in a row. By senior year they were inseparable and madly in love. After graduation, they went to the same college. Billy got a scholarship to play football, and Mary got into the nursing program. Billy was headed to NFL until he broke his shoulder in two places. On that day, his dream of playing pro shattered. So he took courses to become a coach, If he wasn't able to play football anymore, he was determined to invest in a young player that had his former dreams. Mary finished nursing school, and they married the following year. They wanted to have a family, but it didn't come easy. The couple had three miscarriages within the first few years of marriage. When they found out, they were pregnant the fourth time, she had to go on bed rest. They were elated when was in her third trimester. But when she was seven months, she experienced unbearable cramps. Billy rushed her to the hospital and she was told that she had to deliver the baby. She was scared for herself and her child;Larry held and comforted her while she was in active labor, it was touch and go. Then suddenly her vital signs started to falter; and she started hemorrhaging. They told Billy to leave; he was in shock; The team of doctors did all they could to save her; She didn't make it, and neither did her child. It left poor Billy, a widower and childless at the tender age of twenty-three. Contest:Break My Heart, Why Don't Cha Sponsor: Edward Ibeh 02/05/2021
