"Psychobabble"
 


She plants the seeds
in Her mind 
through the 
fathomless
oceanful wells
of Her eyes
saltwater falls
over the unchartered
sharp edges of 
Her tight boundaries
to the playing fields
Elysian
where She waits 
impatiently 
in all Her glowing 
warm-skinned dreams
black words turn
to gold, shining,
over every dark knight
like a beacon cornucopia
goat-horned overflowing 
with flowers 
the scent of Addison 
a road lined with 
pungent seductive
heraldic fleur-de-lis
tall stemmed beckoning
velvet petalled temptations
oriental lilies 
intoxicating the sensate
Pandora Box Pink
luscious and unfurling slowly
exposing their long quivering stamens 
taken by the sea's breeze
dusts the war table
with ochre
an addictive powder
taken and stained 
in a memory
calling the girl home
outside the lines
of a protective circle 
fringed by funereal 
violet-blue, do not 
She says, in short passing 
conversation -
bring
Agapanthus
to the final 
roll call.
The girl is drawn
witnessing it all 
young eyed and ancient
in Her fattening wisdom
watching wet green
cold-skinned geckos
changing automatic colours 
clicking tongues 
they speak 
to each other
in codes 
climbing walls 
watching 
cracked eggs fall
they are dry skinned
with scales and
purely reptilian 
terrestrial

Salamander 
five digits 
pink tongued 
long-storied 
on a prize wall 
well hung
magic frog kingdom
moist-skinned
princes kissed
an hallucinatory 
poison 
necessary
at some point 
in Her tears swim
amphibious and 
indifferent 
away from it all
like legless tadpoles
lacking experience
and the unnecessary
understanding

gratitude is swallowed
life begins again 
outside the protection 
of a circle

The girl is drawn 
into a woman 

in Her future,

A brief conversation
on the wall 

Addison and 
Psychobabble

geckos changing colours
clicking tongues 
watching
cracked eggs 
fall

Outside the tight
confined boundaries 
of a protective circle

Codes 
like blood

read 

and well-written
on a wall
