I. GRAIL OF TIDES from the brewing storm’s steeping chalice the breath of death’s journey awakens in quiet tides beckoned by the stirring whisper of mortal winds furrowed by stoic angels in pallid temporal skies on wings they dance with white powdered swans nimbly etching heaven’s gate with cautious waves that spill on crystal laden slipping sand spurning the glassy hold on reverent land my hastened breath partakes from this efficacy of blissful treasury my ghostly weight lifts to break enslaved into this ebbing reverie struck with bridled command of stilled silence to remand my heart’s farewell I salute! This journey, this life, this love vanishing with each grain of stolen sand 2. WORDS OF TREES Alone in my muted soul disposed to azure forest cathedrals Dismantled from the pain that grips life’s toll I am lifted in golden beams of seraph’s wings That carry me through portals to the sky As the depth of heavens strike my core my being draws nigh breaching all barriers I fly emancipating its descry, its revelation that soars through darkest nights and days bitter lore to rise, to touch the clouds that uphold me through destiny’s door forsaking the fear of ‘nevermore’ I freely close my eyes To overhear winds whisper wisdom As I repose to the melodic symphony a rhapsody of lyric composed in the words of trees resonating as they impart shivering leaves Of untold songs of strength and timelessness Embracing to console my heart’s command 3. SAND OF SAGES I lay me down in dry barren dust a captive clinging to the hush of desert’s tacit peace to rest in colors of warm rust drenched in orange palettes-this day is done shriveled in sunset’s parched realm spun in the dessicated drift of endless calm each blast of windblown sand shifts from its dunes to reveal its lifeless bones resurrected to commune in timeless effigies of faces from my memories Of those in my life who have smiled on me To bring forth the swell of my hearts wellbeing a poet rewriting this visage with each turning page from sacred sand blown chapters of short legacies remembering the times and passions like a wise sage bleeding humbly from scars of a bygone heart set free to say goodbye and return to the page of stars with no regret I conjure and sojourn with those I have loved keeping my friends without enemies I am at rest, drained and dry in the purging of blood in this desert I bleed with gratitude drenched through centuries with purity and love Where all that is now, will never more be 4. WATERSHED OF SOULS resolute rivers rush steadily paced emerging with streams that ferry me to an unknown source with little haste how perfectly it flows with me without course or compass to the dwelling of my endless sea where my silent house is waiting patiently with deeply anchored history refreshing waters quench the fire drawn to my fading fondness as this watershed pours to drench ever so slowly over my body incarnate with merciful kindness overflowing to unsung depths of garnet seas of tranquility within my silent house to be flooded with love’s commitment drowning with contentment My quieted soul is set free 5. MY SILENT HOUSE This journey, this life, this love departs with each grain of stolen sand Embracing now to console my heart’s command Where all that is now, will never more be My quieted soul is set free January 7, 2021 My Spiritual Journey Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Unseeking Seeker
