Poem
Whispered screams of hopelessness Lifted to the timbers, Hopes are crashing to the ground Burned dreams In smoldering embers, And Yesterday's joys remembered. "Is it the end?! Oh Lord, my Friend?" These prayers are lifted Up to You, At night, and all the day long through There's raging on the roads and streets, Shuttered hearts hide beneath sheets, Roofs are crashing to the ground, Though silently. without a sound. A great reset A great depression? Hearts tremble at the devastation. Reach out now, we reach to You In whispered screams the whole world through You own the cattle on a thousand hills, We seek You Lord, to do Your will. Love the Lord with all your might, Love your neighbor and hold on tight. The Lord will lead us through this plight, Eyes on Him, we'll be alright. As these words raced through my mind, I found a love so deep and kind, The One Who hung the stars and sky Seemed to sing a lullaby, Unto my heart, and so I share He's here my friend, and He is there He holds the world in His hands, Nail scarred; of sorrow? Understands. You are there, across this earth, I am here...but of His Birth? We celebrated days ago, Jesus loves You, this I know. Born, lived, died for you, for me. This life's a vapor, with surety He prevails, eternally There is hope across the nations We are all of His creation The stars are shining through the night, He's there for you, please hold on tight. I pray that you will see the light, And that you and yours will be alright. God bless you friend, wherever you are No matter what, it's not too far For God to hear my prayer for you, That He will keep and lead you through The darkness of this present day, He sees your heart, He hears you pray. He hears the frantic whispered screams Through decades past, a fleeting dream Through nightmares, earthquake, Virus, wars, A billion hearts, hind' a billion doors, Can we grasp the gentle care? That God is here, and God is there? That though the world pass away Upon it's own appointed day That His is breath and His is life Past the tears and current strife? I hope that you may clearly see, He loves you dear, Most utterly. He loves us all, He's on His throne, A thousand cattle He calls His own Upon a thousand distant hills, Through sunshine bright And winters chills The birds lift up their crystal praise All their few but joyful days What hope have they from day to day? He cares for them, He hears you pray. He's on the very other side Of this earth's ever ebbing tide. Hold on.
