Poem
Theres a thin layer a fine line between me and Yau like the moon and the skyline We’re intertwined- You’re not a ghost you’re just really mine, the times rewind in my mind your eyes fall to the ground, I’d be running around- you’d yell from your room “And there she goes”. Don’t worry dad I’ll be in soon. Now you’re all the way up on the moon and I wait by your bedside I don’t wanna say good bye dad Your the best friend I ever had You taught me the most valuable thing I know- to let it all roll—- That jo-smo is just a clueless asshole and no one knows how to define me No ones half Witt narcissism should blind me That freed me- when I’m walking with my shoulders high and some guy tries to trip me I know you’re with me “ahhh the hell with him”—- “Come sit with me- lets have some fun and sing” “Maybe to New York New York or something” There’s a lesson in everything- You teach classrooms and read books But you taught me life stuff When to fight and when enough is enough..... and... where to go no matter who wins Chin up You’re my everything “Dad do you misjudge me”? “Why, I would never misjudge you, I love you, you’re my daughter”. “I know what you mean dad I love you too”. You and me We roll like the sea As the thunder growls under our feet Look dad across the sea meet me there deep in my dreams Please dad don’t disappear Now I know what life means Let me do it better give me one more chance, come here Then the sky lit up and the thunder rolled i kissed you upon your head “please tell mom I love her”... I drove for a while, And ended up at the end of your road- It was a house at the end of a road My home- Somewhere in the words you spoke In the feeling of Christmas Eve j In your kiss upon by forehead I believed that you loved me Through the forest and the trees open fields whether daisys or weeds Mountains high through the clouds Fierce winds as your voice is loud Lightening bolts and thunder rolls You were home- as I drove away after saying goodbye the sky opened up and the rain poured I said a prayer-“please guide him to my mother lord... he’ll be lost and lonely for all he knew was his family. Especially her, his beautiful, Mary”. My dad I’m proud you are my dad I’ll see you soon, for now you’re watching over me, the man on the moon!
