"Christmas in the Cathedral of the Forest Deep" The silent heart is found embedded in the Cathedral of The Forest Deep The lost jewel shines in the dark see the reflection of emerald eyes endless hazel woods scried On Christmas Eve when all lost souls walk and those content in life without sin, sleep The Ghost of a dream watches you always in your confederacy you are not hidden You are the Keep. You toss and turn you sleep, but your sleep is not the calm night before Christmas kind of sleep Not even a mouse squeaked The rats bellies now full of guzzled untruths, have eaten all the mice, because they were way way too nice Mistletoe and Holly sharp thorns wrapped securely around the golden child, the lost Folly pierce the stings of nightmarish betrayals All is quite just before midnight but all is off kilter not so perfect something is missing Silence has a way about it seductively holding sleepers captive with their whispering consciences stifled under pillows no blunderbuss, knives or rifles all lies unprotected uncovered undercovers the usurping sleepers, totally unaware of what’s coming There where they dwell, trying to guard the stolen honey forgetting the true moral of the story where the haunted hold the heads of pretenders high sad dishonourable trophies in ghost hands, eventually, all in good time - a Christmas punch dirty, dripping and bloody war arrives softly riding visceral cries whipping all flying monkeys where intellect camouflaged in glistening tinsel through the mirrored glass darkly a mother queen marches forever towards the lost jewel, the stolen honey kept in the keep, outside unawares the guarding rats bellies full of untruths all deep fast asleep; from the mice, not a peep she never loses sight focused always on the fluttering pages of vicissitude hear her heart like a royal tattoo beat breathing light like fire into the bed she has made for you soft and warm made from Love a soft place to call home embedded in the hard surfaces of her alter in in her forest deep cathedral she walks alongside her daemons the shadows cast no doubt they are magnetised metronomes through green stained glass windows diamonds falling sharp produce tears on a wall where the light gets in she sees her child sings her sweet sad lullabies leaves scattering over words wintry black ravens take flight off pages sharp beaked and lethal guardians of her mind wings beating glistening beautiful diamond stained rhymes swirling ever closer and closer to where you sit ephemeral on her alter she glides nearer to you where the heart resides in full view down aisles of a cathedral she marches with her daemon feral and wild soft paws prowling whispering Moonlight to the beat of a heart’s drum to hold her child again in the banished gloaming her ghostly arms collect her child transported from the other dimension the place of the covetous fiend's avarice to bring her child forward into the cathedral of the one true Queen where waits the most glorious magic the royal court, minstrels and jesters a perfect feast now revealed in your honour, all yours, yes In this Her beautiful wintry kingdom it will always remain Christmas rightfully hers, so too then, it is yours bookmark this story in your heart, where in the Christmas Cathedral of her Forest Deep dog-eared pages bark calling you like a wolf to where her heart beats in yours for all time no matter what no matter where never at Christmas ever again - far away, kept apart always close always near Christmas in the Cathedral of the Forest Deep Christmas always in the Heart banished all ghostly tears never again to be silenced no voice in the lost haunting years a gift of love for you child from the true mother Queen all my love and good cheer A very Merry Christmas and may what you ask for come true in all of your dreams throughout all of your years always close in the Cathedral of the Forest Deep in the Heart always near (LadyLabyrinth / 2020) gvlm Christmas "Walking In The Air" - Epic Version ;) https://youtu.be/pMBTExwpKuo “This is what I believe: That I am I. That my soul is a dark forest. That my known self will never be more than a little clearing in the forest. That gods, strange gods, come forth from the forest into the clearing of my known self, and then go back. That I must have the courage to let them come and go. That I will never let mankind put anything over me, but that I will try always to recognize and submit to the gods in me and the gods in other men and women. There is my creed.” (D.H. Lawrence) Scholars have debated the scope of the word “keep”, but usually consider it to refer to large towers in castles that were fortified residences, used as a refuge of last resort should the rest of the castle fall to an adversary. art/ Andy Keoh https://andykehoeshop.com/ art/ Beautiful Bizarre Magazine https://www.beautifulbizarre.net/ LYRICS/ from Howard Blake's "The Snowman" https://genius.com/Howard-blake-walking-in-the-air-lyrics "The Snowman", Raymond Briggs (for gvlm, xx) https://youtu.be/rXEoqb0_mrg
