when Animal Farm is not a feeding manual

and Clockwork Orange strikes at midnight

Dali’s time piece warps under face value

and an eagle-eyed-cuckoo flies over its nest


beneath the cover of cotton candy clouds

she relieves herself into Magritte’s urinal

fills pipes that are not for smoking dreams 

goes underground with Alice and Dumas


Picasso declares that Guernica is not surreal

and the abattoirs of humankind ooze denial

Miro’s harlequin swallows truth at the carnival

Breton comments that beauty must be convulsive


when he meets Kerouac on the road he refuses

to believe that a magical mystery tour offers

Lucy her diamonds and Cinderella stilettos

Barbie becomes Mary Antoinette in disguise


1984 Arabian nights glow in mushroom colours

which support and expose Kahlo’s internal corset

Icarus’s wings resemble hands of innocent clocks

as Oppenheimer constructs Sodom at Alamogordo


the time bomb ticks way past lost expectations

while a poor poet collects broken mosaic shards

reflects condensation beneath the fall out of fear

beneath subconsciousness resides salt of the earth


decompression chambers unburden vacant echoes

cataracts cast a patched blind eye at Pyrrhic battles

pitch cacophony while the orchestra of Auschwitz

plays with pure ashes to an outpour of acidic disbelief


skulls made from egg shells shelter gyrating worms

have another shot of Tequila if it helps with the pain

depression climbs upwards into deep hollows of mind

while Kafka’s cockroaches feast on callous voracity


buried in the pits of conscience and flying pig’s snouts

Jesus collects arrows at a bull’s eye of crossed swords

speeds at crusades on cruise control triggers and fails

where weird bizarre artworkers master sincere candour


an omnivorous soul chokes on what appears to portray

butterfly dolphins and sore eyed camels squeezed into

topsy turvy patterns of wise rats levitating a U Boot

belching farting fumes injecting a winding oracle’s end


the kind witch devours a broomstick up in her behind

speed dials a blind date with a lynch pin of hazel

turns the shafted stake and pierces diverticular spikes

picks a cricket from her nose and reprimands doubters


from Pinocchio’s nose swings an ephemeral pendulum

like an hourglass arrested in purulent slime in condolence

to pricked condoms slipping from a mast of conception

but conceiving the impossible trickles a seed of salvation
