PASSION Passion, what is it? Why do some people have it? Why don't some people have it? What is so intriguing about it? Passion, an intense feeling; a conviction; a deep interest; a strong desire; a devotion to an activity, an object, a concept, an idea or notion, a cause, a theory or belief, an impression or inclination. People who have it are very passionate, intense, enthusiastic, expressive, eager and interested, excited and energetic. When they are engaged in what they are passionate about, it shows in their faces and moves, in the feelings they voice or carry out. Whatever they are doing just flows, so smoothly and their faces glow, so brightly. Like a dancer, who moves and sways with the beat and rhythm of the music. Like a musician, who plays an instrument or sings, feeling the music. An artist, who creates an object with deep interest in colors, harmony and forms. A professional, who puts in devotion in the profession he/she performs. A scientist, who toils on a theory or idea with strong belief, it would succeed. A philanthropist, who engages in a cause with strong desire or pursuit of a good deed. What about you? What are you passionate about? If you do not have any passion, you are missing out. You could still have passion and be passionate, so do not fret, as passion can be developed and acquired, so it’s not too late. It’s time to put passion in your heart, in your life. Set your mind and be determined to have a zealous life. Start doing things you’re eager to do with gusto and zest. Give your full attention, immerse yourself and sense the rest. You will be surprised how excited you can be and how good it will feel and how elated you can be. You can also be passionate with your work. Be resourceful and knowledgeable and you’ll be confident with your work. Have a conviction to give your all and do it well. You will develop passion to your work, as well. For those who have passion, keep it going and don’t let it go. For those who newly acquired it, own it, and let yourself go. For passion keeps you interested, engaged, motivated. It makes you energetic, enthusiastic, vibrant, excited. In other words, passion drives and moves you to live life at the utmost, to live it up, super and free, for we deserve the most. 12/10/20 Juliet Ligon Most Original Poetry Contest This is an old poem I wrote last year!
