Poem
Rise to the challenge of the new day and don’t let your spirit go astray Rise to the challenge of a new day and always remember to pray Start your day with positive words and force a smile to please the world Wrap your arms around a fool and send an encouraging message to someone who has not gone to school. Hold a little child by the hand and teach the principles and values of the land that will make a better community. Demonstrate your love to somebody and tell them that you are really sorry. Every day I am waiting, waiting for someone to come and help me But they keep playing me for a fool and telling people that I am mad And that make me really feel very sad. I work for sixteen hours per day Without food or pay, I have gone hungry for weeks because I have nothing to eat, and when something come to the place, I am usually not around and the hawk snatches everything, leaving the cupboard and pantry dry and empty. My pots are banging, my stomach is growling and the blender is screaming. Rise to the cause of a new day and be in tune with reality, face your enemies’, apologize for their ceaseless sacrifice and the pains they endure day and night. Confront your fears, and help out those you fear and tell them that you care.Remember that the matter is in the detail and sugar is in the bulla buns. Rise to the music of the new day and don’t allow your heart to go astray If you continue to disrespect me, destiny is going mash up the entire country If you continue to abuse me the strong wind will toss you downward on your face. Rise to the cause of the new day and give someone an helping hand, Feed the cows and goats; feed the dogs, cats and chicken feed the roosters and hens, it s a new day. It is a new day in the town and many people are running around, shops are open but nobody is buying, the shop keepers are looking out and the Mini bus operators are shouting out. Police officers are parading up and down the street looking lost and weird. There are too many of them in Town and when you need them they are never around. Some school children are roaming around looking spaced out and lost in the town. The show is about to end and you can see the lion slowly moving out of the den, with vicious eyes and angry voice he tries to sidetrack the people in the town, the people are getting uneasy and housewives are getting needy. He knows that it is time for him to go to end the misery so that the set can move to North America for a new cast to begin a brand new show. This cast is stale and redundant and there is nothing new but Just the annoying people roaming around in the street looking for Something to eat, New month, new day new reality this is my story and I know how to end it. The next scene will not be shot in a hospital bed If that is what you are waiting for because I am not going to be dead. It will be shot with me cruising on a boat and roaming happily about It will be shot with me feeling happy and having a real good time in another country. It is a brand new month and it is time to get up and run.
