Poem
When the sun has taken over and your lips have dried. When your mind is painfully sober, and all the hope has died, be life. The mind is such a fascinating light, concealed deep within where nobody, but you can find. Perhaps it is a dark room, lit by the opening of our eyes and all the darkness and the crowds seek to blind our sight. It’s fine. For how sad to be bind, to the pain someone feels inside. When all I ever desired, for her to walk back and calm the fire. That’s life. Cruelty knows no lines and her intentions are not to cross mine, for I knew her to be kind. She tried to find a way to make me resign, back into my darkness, but she’s all too blind. She cannot see, the night is my castle and what I used to be, was always so fragile. Now shattered, into a million pieces, scattered, and her peace is the reason. So let the wind blow, love of my life. You shined so bright that I did love my mind. Let me be forever gone, with the breeze, if it means you’ll be free of me. See, I never meant to make you flee, lie, cry or make me bleed, I did not wish to watch you leave, but I do mean to let you be, free. I do not know my crime, why I dedicated all my time, rhymes and nights looking for a sign, just to have you kick me when I’m down. Why you had to frown and keep towns, between the sound of you and the oceans within. What is my greatest, cruelest sin, that had me fall where the air is so thin. I can’t seem to understand, why you could not stand, holding my hands. Why you let me go, letting me fall, beneath the falling sands, that crush the hope they say withstands. I needed that warm embrace, that would erase all the grays and return the grace we once faced. But you stayed distant, siding with the fire, that should have killed me in an instant, but instead shimmered slow. I wish you would know, what you let the winds blow away. When the day has calmed, the skies have cleared, don’t shed a single tear, when our fears come true. You perhaps loved me, I loved too, but oh, how the times, just flew, as if they knew, we would be happy. Take a breath, let it all through, everything will be alright, as it’s supposed to. Take it one day at a time, don’t look back, to where we both stood, hand in hand. Time’s change, so do we all, my first love, forced me to grow. Now I am past, burned up and gone, walking this Earth, here to atone.
