Poem
We’re just friends, sends a shiver down my spine. We want to believe, those who know nothing but lying. We burn alive, while we still stay trying, all for someone who plays a game of hiding. And while we seek, speaking everything within our soul, we grow to trust nobody and the warmest days turn cold. For while we sell our self respect, for someone, we are sold, and still told, that we are always wrong. So, while they’ll keep singing the same sad song, we’ll grow wiser and distant from the storms. That love will slowly dry, turn hate, as we stood begging too long at heaven’s gate. I elate, as my worth, can be seen by many others, these words go out to any one out there, that suffers. That fell in love and swore there’d be no other, as their lover did too, but their soul was just a cover. We will be alright. So to those who could never speak the truth, I am wise enough to call truce. Though cruel, I am now a stranger, no longer a fool, and my heart no longer a tool to kill time. In my mind, I swear it, I was yours forever, and having to sever that connection to ever, makes me wanna believe in heaven, as if this, is all there is, I’d rather end it all in a moment of bliss. We will be alright. We’re just friends, sends a shiver down my spine, and I actually used to spend my nights crying. That phrase alone should have had me running, she knew my soul’s allergic, but still chose honey. But these words that I write, immortalize, in every line that I find, peace, in my mind, I help her find, a way to pass beyond the threads of time. The only one that lives forever, is the one that makes me smile. There is an end to every chapter, ours passed and I stayed here after, relishing in memories, living in your laughter. Let it all go, for nobody looks the same, once the mirrors shatter. And if I ever served my soul on a platter, I hope you fight for me, as I do for you. If you look inside my eyes, only speak it true, so that we would make it through, and grow together. Never let me doubt your intentions, never let me even mention, that your loyalty hasn’t been fair. If I speak, believe there is a reason there, and I need you to fight as a politician does for votes on air. Just to show me that you care, and yeah, I would be terribly scared, if I saw the signs that said beware, but I need to trust, in a world the good are hunted prey. We could be just fine. So if you ever walk away, to fight for someone else, our actions speak louder than the stories we tell. and though we fell and at times felt like hell, I would never think to sell, the ocean for a shell. It’s fine.
