TO BE LIKE CHIRST
Am desperately obsessed
Of Christ my saviour and Lord
By him I want to be blessed
The Christian vehicle I must board

I must possess his true love
His big heart I want to have
Dying for the sake of friends
When possible, including fiends

I must possess his everlasting joy
Amidst suffering and sorrow
Standing strong on foy
This extra-joy I must borrow

I must possess his supernatural peace
The one the world cannot give
Disseminating it in every place
Into this sweet pool I’ll always dive

I must possess his long endurance 
Hoping for the worst of sinners to repent
To my fellow believers exercise forbearance
This I wish to attain one hundred percent

I must possess his inherent kindness
How he was always full of compassion
Offering help with utmost willingness
My heart should love this with passion

I must possess his grand goodness
The one that granted us life in fullness
Always wishing the best for others
God should help me in these matters

I must possess his steadfast faithfulness
Even when men remained unfaithful
The way he exercised all-round godliness
When he grants me this I’ll be grateful

I must possess his peculiar gentleness
Bearing with those who treat him brutally
He was filled with humility and selflessness
Am praying for this old school gem eagerly

I must possess his sensitive self-control
His flesh lost all the battles it stimulated
He evaded all the devil’s patrols
Possessing this will make me elated

Yes, I want to be like my saviour
Everything else can and will wait
Till in his sight I gain eternal favour
And like him I become all day and night!
