Poem
I woke up this morning form a puss nap to face the miserable day screaming in my back, I turned around to see who it was but I did not see anyone and suddenly my heart starts to hum a musical song, I could feel the lion crawling out of its den with vicious eyes that makes me want to drag him down from the sky, and two slender dogs are running around guarding their precious head with the golden crown. I looked in the lion’s eyes and connects with the dots and suddenly it falls to the ground and fell asleep without making a single sound. I watched the morning with its daring clouds running around the street with broken arm and chanting a message to the queen to formulate a strategic plan to come and get me off this deserted island. I am not afraid of anything but it’s just my inability to accept some of the things transpiring around me, they are draining my energy and I have no food in my belly. I have adapted myself to this type of life but this is not my destiny or payment for my sacrifice. The world is wrapping itself around me and I want to live in a happy country where people will love and appreciate me I can feel the morning wrapping its arms around me, and the trees standing tall and embracing me, the sugar cane is leaning against the park pulling the heat out of the dark, and the parching sun is sucking up the cane juice. The cane man is not around but he holds the city with a frown, he is the cane don man and anchor man in the town, He is a busy body and an epic of the white man’s theory the cane is embedded in the juice, the nuts and bolts are buried in the screws everything is happening around me and I am sitting in the middle of it absorbing it. I looked across Kitchen Street and cars are parking on the spot, And some of the pots are locked. The human traffic is slow and the jerk man is on the go. The usual aroma coming from the rice and peas and chicken pots with awning dressed upon its back. The hearse has just passed through with a message for you; mankind’s final destiny is underneath the ground or you can choose to have a fiery grave wherever you are bound. Every minute a new activity surfaced and you learn how to walk with good grace, and tossed the nonsense out of the place. The sound is short and you must listen carefully to the brawl. The skies understand it and the earth has revealed it, everything is bubbling around me but hope is whispering to me. The trees are standing still and not one leave is moving, in the wind The moon is on vacation and the sun is sneezing out a massive humidity oh want a cruelty .They come and go and dance precariously in the middle of the show. Just across me is a wall suffering from stupidity “Time” is written on its surface, the painting is burnt out and the dirt is shouting out. Put a fresh coat of painting on that wall and cover the mens urine and the brawl. If eyes could tell and ears could speak the message would be concrete. I look up at the skies above me and I can feel the pressure around me Music is bouncing on the corner and the men are shouting with laughter Men with ties are coming from church, the women are parading in long skirts, The traffic is flowing again and musical sound has increased.. The morning is calming down and the afternoon is chiming in with a another sound. The schedule is tight and everything will be alright. Around me is only me and no one is concerned but the media is keeping my company, the trees are my friends and the critics are my family They have been a part of the game for years, from America to China To Malaysia and , panama, Singapore, Thailand, honking and Argentina, everywhere I go they keep my company but the Jamaican chapter is the hardest leg. The environment is draining and The town is waiting on the final sound. Many things are transpiring are around me and sometimes it make me feel unhappy, I have stepped off my path and it is making me but I will soon do a U-turn and evacuate from the town. There is love around me and beauty surrounds me There is courage around me and heights above me There is peace around me and worries about me There is truth around me and deception prowling around me But my faith is keeping me happy, don’t delay Please come and get me.
