Our Uncharted Island.
.
This infernal uncertain chaotic world
Is markedly spinning out of control
Making it so difficult at times
For reality to take a hold
.
We can often be brought down to our knees
And feel dejected battered and bruised
By the bitter coldness and disregard of others
No matter what path we choose
.
Everyone needs a place to escape to
And lick their wounds
Werther it be a secret place
Or the private space of a bedroom
.
Others look inside themselves
Mediate or dream
Or recapture memories
Of things they have done or places they have been
.
Meditation and quiet contemplation
May calm the savage beast
Finding solace in emptiness
Calming soul mind and body 
We much needed abundant peace
.
The mind is an uncharted island
That few can ever breach
A place where thought and imagination
In isolation can bring a sweet release
.
For many incarcerated by circumstance
Their uncharted island may provide a welcoming escape
From the prison of the mind
And through imagination and fantasy travel to another place
. 
A human safety valve to release burdened pressure
Some find solace in a bottle or addiction
Giving temporary escape and pleasure
.
Whatever life throws at us
As it often does
Escape to your uncharted island
After all we're all just flesh and blood.
