Poem
To this point, I have been; my present being grows out of my yesterday; and I am in a constant state of ever becoming, ever realizing that I am not the master of my fate, but indeed, I have a Master who Masters me.

My parents and the people among whom I grew up, form my life's building BLOCKS. Hard work, respect, self-initiative, high expectations; target your star and 'take STOCK'. These were foundation stones that I was always to build upon but never to be ERASED. Like butter made from milk or oils from a peanut, these were by-products of a Christian BASE.

About 10 years ago, referring to her Faith in Christ, I heard her say, "I have been FIXED".  Those 4 words were captured by my spirit and deposited in my soul where they remain until now. This Christian lady appeared to have a belief system that was pure and UNMIXED. I tell you, it's as much a part of her as the air she BREATHES.  Her eyes are open, her heart is set, and she is not DECEIVED. Certain concrete life-changers in her have been CONCEIVED. There are things that she doubts, and others that she firmly BELEIVES. Some things that she doubts might have merit, but to her, they are minor DISTRACTERS. And to her, their value pales in comparison to the God-ordained principles of CHARACTER.

Life affords each of us the same temptation as that of Adam and Eve. It matters not whether it's a Garden of Eden or our modern-day world-THEATER, the only real strategy of defense is the one given by our Eternal CREATOR.
Like she surely has, several times, I have been challenged to change or rethink my THINKING; Rethink it to the liking of our current culture; to revisit something that I might be LACKING. My essential response has always been that I am deeply entrenched, and it's too LATE. My mind is open but has been renewed, my heart washed, and my soul spiritually FIXATED and SATURATED. There are some things worthy of discussion, but there are others not subject to BE DEBATED.                                                                                                

Oh, I am flexible and open to  some changes, but there are principles that I will not COMPROMISE. I tell you, the road that I am on may be narrow and travelled less, but it's taking me to PARADISE.
