Poem
After the hurricane blew through and the heavy rain receded, you are left devastated. Feelings of numbness and disconnected with stress, fear, suffering, and mental recurring nightmares from the unforgettable howling loud winds. Roofs and walls ripped off houses by the strong winds, trees bent and pulled by the roots. The prolonged heavy rains that produce widespread and significant river flooding inland and into the homes. Some people were left homeless; few have lost loved ones, others endured the difficulties of living in hazardous conditions of water and wind damage, facing the fact being exposed to molds and mildew. They had to deal with the pest that came in through cracks, electricity going out not only for days, but for some weeks. The upsetting emotions they had having to wait to replace or repair their home, furnishings, and utilities. Returning to calm after the storm, recovering, healing from the damaged the wind and flooding had left behind from the massive storm that had passed through days before. gray skies driven rain high gale winds items airborne time heals rebuilding 11/9/2020 Contest Name Best N-A poem of 2020 Sponsored John Hamilton After The Hurricane Poetry Contest
