Poem
Little by little, day by day, what’s hers will slowly fade away. For even roses turn to gray, if the sun doesn’t look their way. Patience was a game, when our thoughts were pure, not in flame. Now our minds are muddy, filled with pain. What’s hers, has been replaced. The truth, I truly chased. Now, however, day by day, my eyes speak of thorns, that I’ve embraced. For on this mountain of lies, of heartbreak and wasted times, the mountain I drag behind, erases from my mind. We already waited years, so many priceless tears, hurting out of fears, that prove she’s not sincere. And if she can surely hear, she’d know, the time is near, it’s passing, so my dear, run to grab what’s yours. Run and come on home, to my arms, it’s all so calm, I swear, I won’t let you fall, just take my hands, that’s all. Sometimes, we can wait no longer, the wait, it makes us stronger, but the longer metal stays in water, the harder it is to mould her. She surely loves another, my eyes can too recover, it’s my soul that really suffers, as she let me believe what is wrong. And since we all are sinners, God will not forgive us, if we wait and pray in time. For we could never know, when we write our last rhyme, for time it works like that, we all just live to die. So maybe one day or two from now, I will be alright. Perhaps it is, with time I’ll find, somebody that is kind. But surely, little by little, God will slowly cry, for we both have lost, what was written, so divine. Not to dirty our names, we laughed and ignored the skies. One day we will be judged, and we are never wise. For I am stuck with just one thing, the if’s and all the why’s. As I will have worked all night and day, if she had only tried. You could hate me for believing lies, but the truth in your mind resides. You painted a picture so deadly, I am to burn forever, lost in cries. and this is for your eyes only, like what you write, for his, I’m falling. So, little by little, day by day, what’s hers was always there. It is her that chose, to stay away, until all she could do was pray. But we, the sinner already know, the skies are sealed, can’t hear our call. So run and come on home.
