Poem

The Awakening Pen

Awake while sleeping,
I once walked this way 
In a mad stumble 
I walked in slumber
Most of my existence...

Until one day...

I awoke from this dream 
And took up the pen,
This is the day 
I first began living,
Diving into words 
With descriptive vision,

Given a messages
To do something 
Inkful whence breathing 
consciousness and influence
into each letter written.

Writing with my eyes closed 
Not sure how it all came together 
Not certain how it's all fitting
But it does and 
after each letter bleeds 
it leaves my writing hand 
with a violent itching 
as my fingers scribe what 
you the reader 
are currently seeing.

I've scratched a bloody mess 
upon this loose-leaf as the truth breaths life to the content of this unknown piece, 

Sneaking through the shadows of my thought caverns, stealing the show with rhythmic words and a mind penetrating flow to reach you the reader for your mind to be blown, 

never again able to think the same,
See this world the same, for this poets gift I truly hope 
would be the one to blame.

Not for wealth or fame but to permanently imprint poetic verse 
Into each and every grain of human consciousness 
should such beauty ever get the opportunity to reach every human being.
