Poem
I knew Love once... She changed her name many times to stand by my side. When I first met her she was Light! She stretched her rays as far as they could, touching all my dark nights. She took me on a journey to learn of all her travels, to know how she grew up, to know just how she became. It was then that I changed her name. I called her Strength! I watched her smile, I watched her laugh a thousand ways, some were louder on different days! She found glory from the roof top of her soul and sang Halleluyah out every window of her mind! This name was my greatest find! I called her Joy!!! It was then that I knew ! I had to protect her with every day that God granted and every lesson God taught me to keep her alive! This would be my fate, this choice would be my life! I failed her with my jelousy, despite of all the gifts she had given to me! A new name grew from the crevices of my heart. I called her Envy. I tried with every strand of youth upon my head, to bring her back to Joy, to bring her back to Light! To kill Envy and find another name instead! When I didn't succeed I learned of a hidden name. One that shadowed in the darkness of my failures. It slept underneath our bed! When Envy didn't reply and Strength no longer answered, it was because her name was Pride! I watched her leaves change like colors in the fall. I saw her feathers wither away, every one! I saw them all !!! When this day came and all my efforts sank beneath my existance, a new name birthed from my the sadness in my soul... I called her Broken... My feet were black and dirty were my hands of all the damage that I had done. I finally understood how I went to bed with Envy, only to wake with Anger instead! I imagined all the ways to find Light, Strength and Joy! None would ever be enough, until I understood how Broken came to be. It was only then you see that one last chance had been granted to me. To aile my Love I had to barry Pride as far away as I could from me! To live a life with grace, to live a life in peace, to bring back all her smiles, to hear her laugh again in the hallways of my spirit, to hear her sing once more! God! If only I would be lucky enough for one more Hallelujah song! In this final moment of all that I had lost, I found her! I found Forgivness! She restored life, her colors green again all her feathers grew greater than before! A lesson I could not avoid a lesson I couldn't ignore! I would never know true Love without any of my failures! I would never see true Love if I never learned Forgiveness!
