Private Residence

Sign at the gate – no solicitors –
Beyond the rosewood door sanctuary in seclusion
Untouched by hands racing round
A face framed by chimes and alarms –
Measures of mincing minutes
Exiled with suitcases packed
To astral planes of heights unknown;
Bits of seconds escape measurement restraints.

Red escaping from purple
Leaving subtle hues of thin blue ballads
No trespassing for prying curiosity
No password for rashness peeping 
Normal comes out of shadows
To exhale held breathe in wingback chairs
While visiting why and wherefore
Next to a warming hearth - four footed companion -
Serving creativity’s wide-eyed delicacies.

Dreams neatly stacked on shelves
New rhythms and new rhymes folded
With care in drawers – price tags unwritten –
Songs stretch their legs outside of reveries
While, sometimes, nightmares run naked
With phantoms trapped in dark corners
Sudden outbursts vetted by nascent reason
Love sifted from the chaff of indifference;
Ideas road tested -quiet not silenced.

Keepsakes nestled with knickknacks remembering 
Ecstasy’s glee - preserved magic moments - mysteries -
Walls stenciled with wisdom’s witty signatures
Idyllic inspirations gathered in albums
Sweet sachets of solitude and bouquets of redemption
No admittance for interruption - banished to thrashing nights
Plans for expansion daily redrawn
Portraits illuminated by snatches of illumination
Closets not locked by cobwebs of the absurd.

A window seat animated – a nook of reflective reflection -
Dripping eaves of amber light - snow rains crooned lullabies -
A telescope to catch visions riding on comet tales –
Stars set free drift in quiet collaboration 
Days, escaped from days yet unknown, beg return -
A hallowed infinity of numberless dimensions –
Seasons released from their regimen chuckle
Castles assemble in jigsaws from rambling remnants
Dedicated space flutters with timeless holy wings creations.

Body and soul meet over sweet tea
In dialogues of secrets - exuberant exaltation –
With harmonies of monograms stitched into melody
Pouring over maps to palaces of the fantastic 
Shaded words find a rightful place – sitting up straight –
Sometimes indecision and maybe stop slouching -
Hues of holy dramas find lines safe from the critics –
To throw off the bonds of restricting reality
With laughter’s rose colored possibilities.

Only one occupant -not for sale, lease or rent –
My private universe - creator's creation -
Sign posted at the gateway – beware of the owner!
"And if my private universe in verse scans right,
So does the verse of galaxies divine."
