Poem
There is only one spooky, creepy, frightful night Where vampires and werewolves are welcome, all right. Naturally I am talking about the greatest holiday, Halloween. Where mystical magical mummies and skeletons can be seen. It is spooky, dreadful, mesmerizing and creepy too. Do you have anyone to go trick-or-treating with you? The child stared as his grandmother’s face turned flush green. Her nose got long, and the wart on her nose began to fairly sheen. She was starting to look gruesome as her eyebrows grew thick. But this is grandma, he told himself. Still, he began to feel quite sick. Do you not know you are a warlock? She asked him with a smile. Max, a third grader shook his head, no, then stared down at the tile. You are okay, his grandma said. I’ll transmogrify back, and she did. He felt better already, as he was only an eight-year-old kid. I love Halloween, she told him. The goblins, the ghouls, zombies and such. He looked at her cauldron, her spell book, her cape, and felt out of touch. Why had he never noticed these things about his grandma before? He got off of her lap, got on his broomstick and he flew out the door. You are a warlock, my little guy, his grandma said to his departing back. So there is no need to be afraid of witches, my darling grandchild, my max.
