Poem

A magical feeling overcomes me as I enter El Xalet de Monjuic Barcelona.
Even though not quite dusk, there is an ethereal sense of wonderfulness.
I look at Sarah, and she smiles, to let me know she feels the chi here.
We are served warm bread with oozing butter with shiny silverware.

Can you believe this? She asks. Her voice is a whisper, for this is a fairy tale spot.
Our waiter Juan introduces himself; he is incredibly handsome. Curly hair, dark eyes.
He moves like a dancer. I look at Sarah and she giggles. We both feel his prowess.
A complimentary wine for the lovely ladies, Juan says upon return. 

Compliments of who? We look around, but no one seems to be paying attention.
Who cares? Sarah says with finesse. Let’s enjoy Barcelona! And so we do. 
The restaurant revolves so slowly, we do not notice movement at all. And yet,
Within the hour, we are facing all new delights of the city, effortlessly.

The food is impeccable, the chairs soft and comfortable, and Juan, well. Juan is Juan.
We did not discover who our wine benefactor was, which added to the ambiance.
This is one place we will never forget. Within the confines of this soft candlelight,
My daughter learned some of my most hidden secrets, and we laughed like school girls.
